The Storms Issue 2 Pushcart Prize Nominations ’23

Pushcart Prize nominee Emily Roys is a student of Immersive Software Engineering at the University of Limerick. She has been passionate about poetry and spoken word since she was 11. She draws on personal experiences and thoughts in her work, in the hope of making her poems relatable and interesting.

Pushcart Prize nominee Elizabeth Gibson is a poet of Irish heritage, based in Manchester. Her work has appeared in Atrium, Confingo, Impossible Archetype, Lighthouse, Magma, Popshot, Queerlings, and Under the Radar, and she has performed on Eat the Storms. She has been commissioned by Manchester Literature Festival, Manchester Pride, Islington Mill, and Yorkshire Dance. She was awarded a DYCP grant from Arts Council England in 2021. Pushcart Prize nominee Clodagh Healy is a 24-year-old  graduate of Creative Writing from UCD. Born and raised in Kerry, her poetry is heavily influenced by the mythical and mundane happenings of Irish life.
